What facilitation and system work have you got planned for the year?

At FSN HQ we are looking forward to delivering more trainings on FS and Facilitation, some one hour pop-ups on zoom, the publication of case studies on the website, and taking Future Search and Whole System Development out to new audiences! Looking forward to seeing how this year unfolds.

That sounds exciting. We would love to learn if they chose to go for it (by being brave). There is a wider point here about what it takes to persuade leaders why Future Search works across boundaries @rosalind

Yes, 2026 is shaping up to be very FS busy in Aotearoa. On the activity list is:

  1. Supporting the cohort of 39 newly trained FS facilitators. We have a WhatsApp group, are gathering in person 27-29March and aim to activate an abundance of FS events
  2. Co facilitating a confirmed FS on climate acfion 1-3 May 2026. Prototyping 3 facilitators. One dedicated to holding indigenous leadership, one to supporting youth in the room and me. All are FS trained.
  3. Responding to many enquiries about FS.
  4. Encouraging philanthropic folk to understand and underwrite FS events in Aotearoa

My institution is at exciting inflection point - I sent a proposal to the president to explore Future Search as an option for critical conversations. Fingers crossed!
